Barclays Greener Home Reward scheme offers customers £1,000 to install solar panels

You can receive up to £1,000 towards your solar panel costs with the Barclays Greener Home Reward scheme.

What is the Barclays Greener Home Reward scheme?

As part of Barclays’ Greener Home Reward scheme, which supports energy-efficient home-related improvements, any existing UK residential mortgage customer that registers online can apply for an £1,000 solar panel grant. This reward also extends to solar battery storage and solar thermal panels.

Barclays Greener Home Reward eligibility requirements

To benefit from the Barclays Greener Home Reward solar panels grant, you must:

• have an eligible owner occupier residential mortgage with Barclays;
• have your solar panels installed by a TrustMark Registered Business;
• have proof of payments or work done on your solar panels installation within three months of your claim;
• make your mortgage payments via a Direct Debit;
• be up to date with all your mortgage payments;
• have permission to let or not be in breach of your mortgage conditions;
• have never claimed for the Greener Home Reward in the past; and
• be paying for work that is equal to (or more than) the £1,000 solar reward.

How to claim your Barclays Greener Home Reward

1. Install your solar panels: You’ll need to install your solar panels using a TrustMark Registered Business.
2. Submit your claim: You’ll need to submit your Greener Home Reward application within three months of the final invoice or payment date of the completed work.
3. Provide your documents: You’ll have one month to supply evidence of the installation (if your claim is successful).
4. Wait for your reward: You wait while Barclays processes your claims. Once approved, you’ll receive £1,000 in your account within four weeks.

What other improvements can you make with the Barclays Greener Home Reward scheme?

As well as solar-related technologies, the Greener Home Reward Scheme supports several other home improvements.

• Doors and windows: You can claim £500 for double glazed and triple glazed windows and doors.
• Insulation: You can claim £500 for various types of insulation (excluding spray foam) and £1,000 for solid wall insulation.
• Low-carbon heating: You can claim £2,000 for installing air source heat pumps, biomass pellet boilers and ground source heat pumps.
